With a lull in my work schedule in mid-April, it’s the best time to take advantage of this period away from order, tasks, process, tasks, and tasks.
Approaching my 40th birthday later in the month, it’s a milestone that gave me time to think about what’s going on in my life. Some people do this best with others. Some people, like me, need the silence around them to process everything. Work had gone great until a sudden change in procedure was handed down to me on the Friday before my vacation week. It just fueled the need to kind of go back to the drawing board of life and reinvent the wheel.
Sometimes we need a personal retreat to recharge our life’s batteries and be functional again without issue. Road trips do that. However, during my road trips I usually take notes, pictures and learn an enormous amount of information, not just for myself, but also to share with you on this website.
Sorry to say, I took this week for myself.
I went a couple of hours from home – not far away from my usual confines, but away enough to still be able to go back home on a moment’s notice. This trip took me to an area that I later – during this trip, actually – compared to being “my Florida.”
This two-part entry is one of the most personal ones I have written. Fair warning: If you’re a reader simply for the tourism aspect, this one might disappoint you. Might be too much “Cody” than “road trip.” In the end, though, somehow it all may be interpreted to someone as the benefits of having a week to get away and reflect about your life.
Little tourist information. No pictures. Just thinking about life.
